Our Accessibility Efforts

We have taken the following steps to make our website accessible:

• Implemented a skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page for keyboard users
• Used semantic HTML5 elements including main, nav, header, footer, and section with appropriate ARIA landmark roles
• Applied ARIA labels and roles to interactive elements, forms, and navigation regions
• Ensured all form inputs have associated visible labels and accessible error messages using aria-describedby and role="alert"
• Maintained a logical heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3) throughout all pages
• Ensured color contrast ratios meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text
• Applied visible, high-contrast focus indicators on all interactive elements for keyboard navigation
• Included prefers-reduced-motion CSS media query to disable animations for users who prefer reduced motion
• Used aria-hidden="true" on decorative elements so screen readers can skip them
• Ensured all external links open in new tabs with descriptive aria-label attributes indicating this behavior
• Marked required form fields with both visual indicators and aria-required="true"
• Implemented live form validation with accessible error announcements

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, we recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process. Known areas we are continuing to improve include:

• Screen reader testing across all major platforms (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) is ongoing
• Provider profile photos, if added in the future, will include descriptive alternative text
• We are evaluating third-party accessibility monitoring tools for continuous compliance
